The Opportunity:
This Intern position reports to Lab manager and works with scientists in the Hematology team. You will be involved in the sample processing, inventory management, Quality Management system and documentation. You may also be involved in supporting departmental initiatives that will contribute to improving processes and overall sample management for clinical trials.


Following the internship program, the successful intern will be able to apply for entry level roles for Scientist/Medical technologist in a CRO or Pharma/Biotech company.

Assignment Scope & Learning Opportunities:
(Under the guidance)

  • Learn the life cycle of sample in lab.
  • Understand the principles of methodology and functions of the assigned technical instrument.
  • Learn to do daily maintenance, start up, processing and reviewing of daily quality controls.
  • Learn and help to receive, handle, prepare and loading of samples in the instrument.
  • Learn to make, stain, and review the Peripheral smear slides.
  • Learn and help to manage laboratory-related inventory.
  • Learn and help in safe disposal of Biohazard waste.
  • Help in maintaining cleanliness of laboratory equipment and work benches.
  • Help in collection, documentation, filing and retrieval of data.
  • Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by a manager.
  • Complete a project on process improvement.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology etc (healthcare-related fields)
  • Must be able to commit at least 20 weeks (January 2025 - May 2025)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work
  • General awareness about the laboratory environment (downing of PPE, etc)
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients
  • Computer skills including proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including good command of English language
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
