The MSL mission is to maximize the benefits of company products through high quality scientific communications with leading therapeutic area experts on a peer-to-peer basis. Through the implementation of a local Medical Affairs Plan the MSL is jointly responsible for the realization of short- and long-term company goals in the Benelux area

The function:

The MSL role is in principle a field-based role with major responsibilities such as:

  • Proactive and reactive communication of validated medical scientific data to a broad external health-care related audience and KOLs
  • Through scientific interactions, gain valuable insights into treatment patterns, and scientific activities in the therapeutic area and provide input to the company Medical Affairs Plan and business decision-making.
  • Work with identified stakeholders to establish and enhance the reputation of company as required and demonstrate themselves to be a partner of choice for KOLs interested in the designated therapy area.
  • Continued update of relevant therapeutic area medical and scientific knowledge.
  • Coach and support scientific speakers who are actively interested in the designated therapy area through one-on-one clinical sessions using approved clinical slide sets. Act as a clinical resource with professional and advocacy organizations with the objective of developing relationships and identifying potential opportunities for partnership.
  • Organization and participation in Advisory Boards, symposia, medical education activities etc. in compliance with local rules.
  • Publication planning; slide-deck development, training initiatives.
  • Provide field-based medical support to clinical research programs.
  • Assist with medical information management in compliance with international and local SOPs.
  • Always maintain high quality ethical behaviors and compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Be compliant with Code of Practice, national and local laws always as well as completing all required trainings on an ongoing basis.

The profile:

  • Successful completed Health Sciences or Medical degree
  • At least 5 years of experience in the Dutch pharmaceutical or healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of the Dutch health care system and its stakeholders.
  • Dynamic, strong personality with a high level of self-motivation and an entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Willing to travel within the Netherlands and occasionally outside the Netherlands.
  • Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English language both verbally and in writing
  • Driving license
