We are seeking a Laboratory Associate- Specialty Processing to join IQVIA laboratory business at Valencia, CA.

As a Laboratory Associate, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine testing procedures to obtain data for use in clinical trials research.

Shift: Tuesday-Saturday 9pm-5:30am

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Performing routine analysis of specimens and documenting results in accordance with SOPs and applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Evaluating the validity of analytical results against the algorithms displayed by the lab computer system.
  • Identifying and documenting potential performance errors or otherwise unusual results and escalating to senior lab personnel.
  • Preparing buffers and solutions for analysis, as required.
  • Performing secondary review of analytical results when signed-off as competent to do so for applicable instrument(s) and/or data type(s).
  • Assisting in the development and writing of new laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Assisting in good housekeeping of the lab environment, consistent with 6S standards.
  • Notifying appropriate staff of supply shortages.

What We Are Looking For:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent or Bachelor’s Degree. Some CAP/CLIA lab locations may require a BS in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology degree.
  • 6 months relevant lab experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed for this role:

  • Basic knowledge of lab principles and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and applicable regulatory agency standards.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and practices including standard precautions and hazardous chemical handling.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrumentation and terminology used in the area of responsibility.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $45,200.00 - $75,400.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
