Job Description

Join IQVIA as a R Programmer Analyst in the Real-World Evidence and Methods Generation team and help us deliver high-quality scientific research to our clients in the global pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

All applicants must have the right to work in Bulgaria.

Our goal is to contribute to the body of scientific evidence that allows medical practitioners to treat patients in the most effective way, and health systems to include as many patients as possible.  We use data, collected for clinical and other purposes to answer research questions such as "which treatment works best in the real world, beyond the clinical trial setting?" Our fast paced and supportive environment attracts individuals who care deeply about the quality, timeliness and subsequent impact of their work; who thrive when exposed to the scale and variety of scientific challenges we face.

Your primary responsibilities will be wide ranging, but will involve:

  • Extract, clean, investigate, prepare, analyse and report real-world data according to statistical analysis plans and programming specifications using R.
  • Develop and document data science methods and algorithms.
  • Contribute to and support the ongoing maintenance and development of a centralized library of R packages and Shiny applications within a best practice software engineering framework.
  • Contribute to improving operational efficiencies of workflows, including development of automated process and internal guidance documents.
  • Implement quality control procedures.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have:

  • To have completed a BSc in Software engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Bioinformatics, or in another Scientific or quantitative discipline and to be pursuing (or have completed) a MSc in a related discipline.
  • Good programming skills in R or in another programming language
  • Excellent time management skills, contributing to multiple projects with competing timelines.
  • Commitment to working collaboratively and effectively with people of other disciplines.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a client focused, results driven environment.
  • Good scientific writing skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualities

  • Prior experience in R, Python or SAS
  • Experience with version control software such as Git.
  • Experience building or applying statistical models.
  • Experience designing and executing prospective or retrospective database studies.
  • Prior experience working in a consultancy or other service sector in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience in producing data visualisations to communicate analysis results.
