Job Overview
This position will be approximately 25% Development DBA and 75% Production DBA work. Responsibilities include work on both Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server platforms.

Mandatory Skills
Core Database Administration

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (current and legacy versions)
• Experience troubleshooting performance issues in Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience with performance tuning on Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience running and troubleshooting SSIS packages
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Edition on Oracle Enterprise Linux
• Experience with RMAN, ASM, and Oracle Enterprise Manager
• Experience with PL/SQL, including package writing and materialized views
• Experience with database backups, test recoveries, and disaster recovery planning
• Experience with high availability configurations (e.g., SQL Server Always On, clustering; Oracle RAC)
• Experience with replication (e.g., SQL Server mirroring, log shipping; Oracle Data Guard, GoldenGate)
• Experience with data migration techniques for datacenter consolidation
• Ability to monitor and resolve production database issues
• Ability to upgrade and patch SQL Server and Oracle environments

Development DBA Responsibilities

• Ability to design and create databases for development initiatives
• Experience with refreshing/cloning production databases into test environments
• Ability to consult on SQL queries for ad hoc analysis
• Experience developing or co-developing applications with development teams

Soft Skills

• Ability to mentor junior DBAs
• Ability to discuss database-related details clearly with business stakeholders
• Capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Nice-to-Have Skills
Scripting & Programming

• PowerShell, Linux shell scripting, Perl scripting
• VB and C# .NET programming
• General scripting and coding experience

Reporting & Messaging

• Experience with SSRS 2008 R2 and 2022
• Familiarity with Oracle AQ / Message Queue

Tools & Utilities

• Experience with TOAD
• Knowledge of installing Oracle CPUs
