General Accounting Specialist

Job Overview:Providehigh-level technical and general accounting servicesin accordance withIQVIA Finance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs),US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP),Sarbanes-Oxley rules, andfinancial reporting requirementsof the business unit (e.g., local GAAP).

Essential Functions:

• Recommend, develop, implement, and maintain standardsfor functional roles.
• Analyze, prepare, and process journal entries; analyze, maintain, and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Provide records of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions.
• Prepare profit and loss, income, and balance sheet statements. Maintain inter-company accounting records and reconciliations.
• Prepare ad hoc reportsfor internal and inter-departmental use.
• Ensure appropriate approvalsare obtained for accounting purposes.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and analysisfor the annual external audit.
• Ensure accuracy and compliancewith all accounting regulations and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
• Perform special projectsas needed.
• Work on month/quarter-end financial close and statutory close.
• Suggest improvementsto existing processes and systems.
• Assist with preparing monthly bank account reconciliations.
• Assist with maintaining receipts and disbursement reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, or
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 1 year of experience required, or
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required.
• Knowledge of Peoplesoft/SAP Finance modules.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Technical accounting skills.
• Data analysis and manipulation skills.
• Ability to exercise judgmentwithin procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
• Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple work requirementsto meet deadlines.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationshipswith co-workers, managers, and clients.
