We are seeking an AssociateScientist, Sample Prepto join Q2 Solutions, IQVIA’s laboratory business atIthaca, NY.

As a Scientist, Sample Prep, you will be responsible for sample preparation duties, including troubleshooting routine experiments, preparing solutions and reagents, and driving process improvements. You will also play a key role in training junior level staff.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Executing techniques to ensure biological sample is prepared for subsequent analysis.
• Offering subject matter expertise to assist in the technical transfer of methods.
• Performing and documenting hands-on training for junior lab staff in areas of proven competency.
• Identifying and documenting potential performance errors or otherwise unusual results and escalating to senior lab personnel.
• Assisting in process improvements to increase data quality, lower costs, or reduce turnaround times.
• Documenting all project work according to Q2 Solutions and regulatory processes and procedures.
• Leading a laboratory or cross-functional project and assisting with the implementation of changes.
• Working with automated instrumentation and performing routine data analysis, as required.

What We Are Looking For:

• Bachelor’s Degree or other equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1 year of experience in a regulated laboratory environment.
• Proficiency with pipetting techniques.
• Applicable certifications and licenses as required by local regulations.

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities needed for this role:

• Sound knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts in the job area.
• Working knowledge of any applicable regulatory standards within the area of responsibility, such as Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
• Strong technical knowledge of complex testing procedures and science supporting analysis.
• Good computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
