ob Overview - Strategic Proposal Developer
Deliver high quality, professional, strategic proposal documents to customers in a timely manner. Ensure that text clearly and succinctly conveys technical understanding and best value solutions. Ensure that proposal content addresses the customer’s needs and ‘hot buttons’, as well as IQVIA Biotech differentiators.
Strategic proposal writer (SPW) will work with proposal lead (PL) and proposal developers (PDs) to provide overall strategic guidance to proposal process. Responsible for professional quality of proposals and ensuring:
• Content is on point: Addresses customer hot buttons, specific needs and IQVIA differentiators.
• Text is well-written: Concise, clear and coherent.
• Document is well presented: Follows usage and formatting conventions, is grammatically correct, consistent and well-presented.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Partner with the PL (or equivalent) to own the overall strategy of high priority opportunities and any other opportunity of strategic importance. Play a key role in ensuring that the strategy is well-defined by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, studying requests for proposals (RFPs), attending strategy call meetings.
• Work with the PL to facilitate early visibility and ‘buy-in’ for the proposal strategy and that the agreed strategy meets the explicit and implicit needs of the customer.
• Position and write customized responses to study specific RFI and RFP questions based on information gathered from various subject matter experts (SMEs).
• Support the PL in writing concise and customized executive summaries that detail IQVIA’s key selling points and differentiators.
• Critically review input from SMEs, ensuring that it is directly related to the study and customer’s needs, and that it is aligned with other team members’ input and the proposed strategy.
• Collaborate with and support PDs to ensure proposal text is strategic; ensure overall cohesion and consistent messaging when incorporating input from various SMEs into master document; ensure timely submission of proposals.
• Maintain professional quality of proposals by ensuring text is concise, clear, and coherent; ensuring that the appropriate template is used, and that text adheres to proposal writing, formatting and presentation guidelines and conventions.
• Provide comprehensive self-review of proposal text in preparation for final Commercial Operation (CO) QC and customer delivery. May also provide final CO QC of text for colleagues.
• Support the development and implementation of processes, including participation in global initiatives (as needed), with a primary focus on increasing customer satisfaction and by creating efficiencies while maintaining consistency among all teams.
• Provide advice, support and guidance as needed and serve as a mentor to colleagues.
• Stay abreast of all new products and the IQVIA brand.
• Participate in customer meetings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Skilled at visualizing documents and communicating vision clearly and simply, verbally and in writing.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Innovative and creative thinking skills.
• Proven team leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent MS Word skills.
• Background in clinical research, science, communications, writing specialization, journalism or business very helpful.
• Ability and confidence to work independently, make sound decisions, and escalate appropriately in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to balance strong attention to detail with overall business and deliverable objectives.
• Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback in a positive manner.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent knowledge of proposal processes.
• Ability to interpret RFPs to gather top information and ability to interpret protocols.
• Strong analytical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, senior level executives, and customers.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Degree in related field and direct experience in CRO Proposals and Contracts or equivalent combination of education, training and experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Extensive use of telephone and face-to-face communication requiring accurate perception of speech.
• Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers.
• Regular sitting for extended periods of time.
• Occasional travel.
