Summary: Join IQVIA’s Innovative Operations Group within Clinical Data Management. This role will act as the Head of Technical Study Design, which is a pivotal role focused on leadership of a global team to provide our clients with expert consulting and technical design services while utilizing currently available and prospective data collection solutions.  This role will facilitate and enable day to day operational delivery, as well as pursue advancements in offerings and capabilities through collaboration with our innovation group, vendor managers, and industry partners. Successful clinical database planning and start-up activities are a key area for the success of clinical trials, and this role can make an important impact in expediting solutions for patient health in an area where large-scale transformational opportunities exist, considering advancements in AI and data solutions, industry standards and other advancements in efficiency tools and processes.  Bring your industry experience, strategic vision, and transformational spirit to make an impact in this exciting leadership opportunity.

This role is work-from-home and could include occasional travel.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Be highly involved with the technical aspects of Clinical Data Management including leading technical initiatives and guiding strategic improvements across the group.

  • Manage a team that serves as consultants and architects in building EDC databases.  

  • Direct collaboration and managing relationships with clients to discuss technical offerings.

  • Monitor and manage utilization and productivity. Ensure performance of staff is regularly assessed and documented.

  • Define and implement department objectives consistent with broader office and regional objectives.

  • Provide technical advice and solutions to solve problems and improve efficiency across functions, projects and customers.

  • Monitor quality and efficiency across projects to identify trends and opportunities for improvements. Ensure sharing of learning across projects and departments. Participate in defining strategies for new processes and technology at regional or global level.

  • Attend customer meetings and lead discussions of project requirements and strategic planning.

  • Actively assess and manage project realization. Ensure project milestones are met according to agreed upon timelines with high quality.

  • Manage staff in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work.

    - rewarding and disciplining employees.
    - addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or educational equivalence, in clinical, biological, mathematical sciences, nursing, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience which would ideally involve global drug development, clinical data management or project management of clinical technology systems.

  • Extensive experience with process improvement, enhancing efficiencies and technical design.  

  • Advanced knowledge of Data Management processes and systems including new technologies.

  • Experienced with Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems such as Medidata Rave, Oracle Inform or others.

  • Excellent organizational skills, an innovative mindset and demonstrated ability to delegate and monitor quality of outputs.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $145,000.00 - $269,400.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
