Job Overview
IQVIA’s Strategic Advisory practice is a dedicated team of strategy consultants who serve CEOs to Managers across life sciences, addressing both large and small business challenges, with the benefit of providing ideas, insights and solutions that advance care to people worldwide.
Within IQVIA’s Strategic Advisory practice, Patient Engagement is a discrete team of strategy consultants focused on providing expertise in patient centricity, patient engagement, patient support advisory and pre-Rx consumer activation. Members of this team also drive strategy projects related to new commercial models, customer experience, omnichannel and digital marketing as well as digital health.
We are looking for an experienced Principal level strategy consultant who can work directly with life science (e.g. pharma, biotech, med-tech, health tech) clients to source business opportunities, drive lead generation, act as a strategic thought partner as high as the c-suite level and deliver consulting projects in the broad catchment area of Patient Engagement.
This individual will first and foremost be a formally trained strategic consultant and problem solver, an excellent communicator, demonstrated BD generator and client relationship manager. Secondarily, this individual will have experience in and or an avid interest in supporting the life science industry with their quest toward enriched patient engagement and personalized care.
Essential Functions
- Develop, oversee, and deliver insightful, value-added strategies that address complex client issues.
- Create and generate revenue through lead generation, client engagement, and response to RFPs for existing and new client organizations.
- Act as principal owner of client engagements; ultimate responsibility for client satisfaction and delivering high levels of quality/added value.
- Provide follow-up with clients after project deliverables have been completed to ensure client satisfaction.
- Allocate direction, advice, and intellectual leadership to clients and delivery teams.
- Mentor, coach, and share subject matter expertise with others to help develop individuals and capabilities delivering world-class solutions for clients.
- Provide clear and insightful guidance to ensure successful development of client reports and presentations.
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Lead thought leadership and firm building initiatives.
- Remain current on industry, clients, and competitive trends and directions to anticipate and identify new business challenges and issues with assigned clients.
- Contribute to the enhanced awareness of consulting services in the marketplace, e.g. through speaking engagements, client meetings, and publications.
- Participate in annual performance review team processes.
- Engage in recruitment and selection of new staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Masters preferred.
- At least 10 years professional experience in strategy consulting, pharmaceutical and healthcare industry with evidence of career progression required.
- Demonstrable experience in and commitment to the life sciences and/or healthcare industries required.
- Demonstrate experience in patient centricity, patient engagement, patient support services advisory or new commercial model, omnichannel strategy, and digital health.
- Proven capability to identify new revenue opportunities with existing clients.
- Proven skills in identifying, recruiting, mentoring/coaching, and retaining top talent for CONSULTING SERVICES practice teams.
- Proven success selling complex strategy and operations engagements to the top Pharma/Life Sciences companies. Actively participate in proposal development and ongoing pre-sales meetings with potential new client organizations.
- Ability to speak in detail with CEOs, COOs, and CMOs about brand, launch and commercial strategy services/solutions, specifically in the life sciences industry segment, in a meaningful manner with depth of content knowledge.
- Proven ability to build relationships, identify client pain points, and develop custom solutions at the CEO/COO/CMO level (ideally providing comprehensive and authoritative knowledge in brand/commercial services solutions demonstrated through speaking, writing, and general eminence).
- Experience to craft client brand and commercial strategies that are specific regarding international geography.
- Expresses ideas in a clear and concise manner; tailors’ message to target audience with the gravitas to build relationships to sell services and recruit practitioners.
- Maintains a constant focus on industry, client, and competitive trends in the life sciences industry. Applies this knowledge to both active client engagements and business/client development activities.
- Applies an analytical approach to solving problems and reaching logical conclusions. Gathers information from a variety of sources and quickly gains an understanding of it. Works effectively with complicated, conflicting, or ambiguous information, and looks beyond the surface of issues to identify their underlying patterns and causes.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $190,500.00 - $353,900.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time).
