About the Role:
We are seeking a Director of Information Governance to join our Research & Development Solutions (R&DS) Information Governance team, which supports global clinical operations, lab operations, and AI initiatives. “Information governance” refers to the implementation of controls to effectuate the responsible use of information processed by IQVIA along the data life cycle. Requirements for responsible use of information are sourced from various disciplines and activities, including data privacy, information security, contracts, intellectual property, company policies and procedures, AI compliance requirements, commercial requirements, etc.
Where This Role Fits:
- Part of the Information Governance team within R&DS, reporting into leadership responsible for global governance strategy.
- This role is critical to implement a programmatic approach to information governance across 100+ countries, ensuring compliance with privacy, security, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
- May serve as a key advisor for governance in AI programs, clinical systems, and/or lab operations.
Essential Functions:
- Implement Global Governance Controls: Drive adoption of information governance requirements across systems and processes worldwide.
- Advise on Compliance: Apply GDPR, NIST, contract law, and clinical regulations to real-world scenarios; recommend fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Contract Review & Negotiation: Understand data-use obligations and suggest alternative language consistent with IQVIA’s data strategy during negotiations.
- Client & Audit Representation: Attend bid defenses, audits, and client meetings to represent governance programs.
- Develop Guidance & Tools: Create reusable documentation and tools to operationalize corporate privacy, security, regulatory and legal policies.
- Gap Analysis & Risk Mitigation: Identify compliance gaps in lab systems and AI projects; propose corrective actions.
- Project Leadership: Lead or monitor governance projects, ensuring alignment with global standards.
- Innovation & Collaboration: Encourage new ideas and foster teamwork across disciplines.
Key Skills:
- Hands-on application of GDPR and global privacy regulations.
- Strong understanding of NIST frameworks, contract law, and clinical compliance.
- Ability to integrate legal, technical, and business perspectives into practical solutions.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving in complex, multi-jurisdictional environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in technology, science, computer science, law, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years applying information governance controls, data privacy, security technology, and legal obligations.
- CRO experience is strongly preferred; pharma experience may be considered.
Preferred Certifications:
- CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Professional)
- CIPM (Certified Information Privacy Manager)
- JD or equivalent legal background

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $112,200.00 - $312,700.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time).
