Job Overview

Lead strategic initiatives and develop plans to ensure the effective allocation of resources for a designated group, country, or region. Determine strategic goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with senior management priorities. Collaborate with senior management across disciplines to develop and implement strategic plans.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement strategic plans in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable regulations.
  • Guide professional development and performance appraisal processes.
  • Collaborate with senior management to set targets for recruitment and retention across roles.
  • Establish and evaluate onboarding processes to ensure staff have the necessary materials, systems access, and training.
  • Oversee the execution of training plans, SOP reviews, and mentored training experiences.
  • Lead the clinical resourcing process through continual evaluation of existing and future resource alternatives, proactive planning, and collaboration with study team leadership and operational peers.
  • Evaluate the quality of clinical work products and regional workload, quality, and budget metrics through regular review and reporting.
  • Collaborate with senior management and other functional leadership to improve efficiencies, project outcomes, and quality metrics for clinical projects.
  • Act as a coach and mentor for lower-level staff as they develop in their roles.
  • Work collaboratively with project leadership, including Clinical Project Managers, client representatives, and other functional leadership to manage project-related challenges and achieve exemplary customer service.
  • Analyze and review budgets for clinical studies within the region, planning for appropriate budget consumption and guiding corrective fiscal action plans.
  • Conduct Clinical Project Reviews and participate in Project Management Reviews according to regional guidelines.
  • Lead corporate or departmental quality or process improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a sponsor/client liaison.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a scientific discipline or health care preferred.
  • At least 12 years of clinical trials experience, including experience in a management/leadership capacity or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Broad knowledge and ability to apply GCP/ICH and applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Advanced knowledge of clinical research financial parameters and project financial tracking and accounting methods.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Advanced presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a good command of English.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $171,800.00 - $350,900.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
